Soil Tests

Road Cost Estimator | CEC Calculator | Mix Calculation | Claycrete Reaction Test

For best results using Claycrete II™ the following numbers are required:

  1. Plasticity Index, PI

  2. Particle Size Distribution

  3. Clay Fraction

  4. Linear Shrinkage

  5. Optimum Moisture Content, OMC and Maximum Dry Density, MDD.

The OMC and MDD are initially optional. If the other tests show that material should be added to your road, a Proctor Test should be run at that time with the new material already in the road in order to get accurate data.

THE FOLLOWING TESTS ARE TO BE PERFORMED TO FIND EACH REQUIRED VALUE.

1. ATTERBERG LIMIT TEST

- Plasticity Index (PI)
- Liquid Limit (LL)
- Plastic Limit (PL)

2. HYDROMETER TEST

- Particle Size Distribution (PSD)
- Clay Fraction

3. SHRINK TEST

- Linear Shrinkage (LS)
- Shrinkage Limit (SL)

4. PROCTOR TEST*

- Optimum Moisture Content (OMC)
- Maximum Dry Density (MDD)

* To be performed after results from other tests have been determined
